Summer Is Here, Restrictions Are Gone, What Is The Future For Pr?

Today we issued our summer ezine, which looks at the future of PR, gives a sneak peak at our new offices, and talks about our 21st birthday, which we will celebrate next week. If you would like to sign up to our ezine, please email info@elevate.ie.

Our ezine opens with discussing the future of PR. With covid, our industry pivoted to virtual events and upweighted influencer marketing. Across the world, there was a realisation of just how important public relations is, in terms of both external and internal communications. Companies have strengthened in house PR teams, and agencies are scrambling for talent.

Now that in person events are back, we delivered some quality press days for clients including the opening of the personal shopping suites at Kildare Village, press days for McWilliam Bags, Arran Street East, and Well by Karl Henry at Dunnes Stores. A press and influencer event gives a thunderclap moment on social media and leads to real conversations between brand owners/marketeers and influencers and journalists. Press trips are also back, and we hosted trips to the UK for Regatta and JYSK. The photocall has also returned as a PR tool. We got the front page of the Irish Times for our Showcase Ireland one.

The media and influencer desk drop has not gone away, and organic gifting is here to stay, despite the ever-changing social media landscape. TikTok has seen a meteoric rise and Instagram is also becoming video first nature. Paid influencer just gets bigger and bigger and is making up a substantial part of our strategy for clients. With trackable links, we can see the resulting sales instantly.

We see consumers seeking sharable experiences. To tempt consumers back in store, retail brands need to provide an element of theatre. Shopping in person is emotional!

Our industry needs to be part of the climate change conversation. The circular economy is growing in scale and there is a questioning of consumerism especially in the context of inflation, the cost-of-living crisis, and war in Europe.
