Pr Toolkit – Key Tools

In the final episode of our IGTV PR Toolkit, we took listeners on a whistle stop tour through the last few PR tools in a conversation between Elevate’s Emma Kelly and Claire Feely.  They discussed surveys, sponsorship, brand ambassadors, competitions, social media, stunts, public awareness campaigns and CSR.

Here are some of the main points from their conversation.

Surveys are a useful PR tool and can help to generate news hooks. Some Elevate experience in this space that was explored included Flair Showers, Bumble using in-app data, and Kellogg’s research on sports for kids.

They discussed how competitions have had a renaissance in Covid and gave some real-life case studies such as Lily O’Brien’s, as well as talking about the costs associated with most broadcast competitions.

Brand Ambassador

Elevate’s experience in the world of brand ambassadors include working with Volvo’s brand ambassadors – Suzie McAdam, Amy Huberman, Brendan Courtney, Dermot Bannon, and Jennifer Rock. For Peroni – Roisin Lafferty Kidd, Aoife Noonan, Algorithm, Grainne O’Keeffe, and Jonathan Saunders. We have worked with Vogue Williams for Lily O’Brien’s and Clodagh McKenna for Greene Farm. The right brand ambassador is an excellent resource for a PR campaign.

We are seeing longer term collaborations and contracts and involving brand ambassadors in the creative side earlier in the process.

Elevate has executed some quality stunts including placing giant PlayStation letters in the Liffey and Ireland’s first flash mob for the Nokia Young Fashion Designer Awards.

Public Awareness Campaigns

National Bike Week, Clean Coasts and Comreg have all trusted Elevate to execute public awareness campaigns.

Media Partnerships

The negotiation of media partnerships and advertorials are an integral part of PR.  We worked with The Gloss for Volvo and had a series of media partners for the Hennessy Literary Awards including the Sunday Tribune, the Irish Independent, and the Irish Times.

Corporate Social Responsibility

We have helped our client Bumble with the Bumble Grant to support small business and are currently working with IAPI and partner agencies to plan a campaign for Belong To.

Climate change, diversity, and inclusion are the big issues at board level now. Consumers are demanding change and cynical of green washing. Business must lead in this space; government has to regulate.
