Visit Scotland: Health And Wellness Holidays

This week top models and fitness fanatics Sarah Morrissey and Lynn Kelly helped launch VisitScotland’s health & wellness campaign in Fitzwilliam Square Park. A recent study* conducted by VisitScotland revealed that health and wellness holidays are on the rise among Irish travellers. 82% of those surveyed had already been on a healthy holiday this year and every second person surveyed was interested in finding out more about taking a wellness break away. Given that over two thirds of Irish adults (76%) consider themselves to be outdoor enthusiasts and 44% stated they were fitness fanatics, the findings by VisitScotland indicate that although Irish people’s lives are busier than ever, they are health and exercise conscious and are looking for even more ways to de-stress by spending time outdoors while they are away.

Scotland is a popular destination among those surveyed, as almost half have already travelled to Scotland with six out of 10 planning to visit in the near future. With a great range of options for those looking for a break with a difference, Scotland has something for everyone when it comes to planning a health and wellness holiday as it boasts 11,000km of coastline and stunning scenery.
