Ireland’s First Jonnmar Showroom Now Open

Jonnmar opens its first Irish showroom in Dublin 4. The new showroom is truly unique, glamorous and eclectic at the same time, vibrant colour in rugs and upholstery is tempered by classical lighting and a quite unexpected spaciousness upon entering. Founded by Dubliner Jeffrey Aird in the city of Paris, he and his team of designers have worked together since 2005, navigating through a long series of highly-demanding design projects in all corners of the globe and for the world’s most elite clientele. Jonnmar is very unique in that it provides a turnkey general contracting and fitout service in-house, so that designers, architects or private clients can commission Jonnmar for all or part of a private or commercial project – fitout only, design only; or both.

The Dublin showroom, like its Parisian counterpart, has an array of stone, wood, parquet, glass and metal samples, so it functions as a conveniently-located design lab for project meetings with clients. It hosts a carefully curated collection of exclusive furnishings, fabrics and lighting from Jonnmar and other internationally acclaimed designers, including Clive Christian, Baccarat, Christopher Guy, Luxonov, Ketzal, Collier Webb and Christopher Hyde. A bespoke service of furniture, rug and lighting design makes up a large part of Jonnmar’s offering . Taking centre stage in the Dublin showroom are Jonnmar rugs, which are specially designed and tailor made using only the highest quality materials; 100% Chinese worm spun silk and wool exclusively from the Himalayas or New Zealand. Hand-woven in Kathmandu and Jaipur by fourth and fifth generation weavers, each Jonnmar rug comes with an ‘adults only’ certification from GoodWeave International or Hand, which are a network of non-profit organisations dedicated to ending illegal child labour in the rug weaving industry.

Classically-styled lighting by Clive Christian, Baccarat and Christopher Hyde hang from the ceilings. These fixtures are true works of art, adding space, character and depth. Each light is UK or French-made, in handcut crystal and forged brass or nickel.  There is a glass Solar System light to the rear of the showroom, which was commissioned in France with glass-blower Ludovic Clement d’Armont . A Marie Coquine chandelier by Baccarat hangs in the window display.  This spectacular light is shaded with a silk umbrella and is a truly marvellous piece. With over 250 years of experience and passion for craftsmanship, Baccarat delivers luxury hand cut crystal pieces that are both modern and classical; the perfect combination. The pièce de résistance is the Grande Bloque ottoman, finished in button-down British velvet.  It’s a stunning piece of statement upholstery, designed by Jonnmar and handmade in west London by royal-appointed upholsterers. Available in a variety of colours.

Jonnmar stock very quirky fire extinguishers by a company called Fire Design. Made in France, these cute flame-dousers add colour and character to a room and mean you don’t have to hide the red canister away in a dark corner anymore. All of these collections and more are available to purchase now from the new Jonnmar showroom, 44-46 Donnybrook Road, Donnybrook, Dublin 4, or online on www.jonnmar.com. The showroom is open from Monday to Friday 10am until 6pm and Saturdays from 10.30am un til 5.30pm.  Follow Jonnmar on Facebook and Instagram
