Launch Of Dublin Fashion Festival 2015

Last week, Wednesday 12th August 2015, Elevate had the pleasure of launching Dublin Fashion Festival 2015 in the beautiful surrounds of Dublin City Hall. The festival, ran by DublinTown welcomes style icon Pippa O’Connor as this year’s face of the festival. Pippa, who follows in the footsteps of Irish stars such as Laura Whitmore, Angela Scanlon and Amanda Byram, officially launched the festival, and will also host a live fashion show on Friday, 11th September, 2015. Speaking of her involvement in the festival, Pippa said: “I’m thrilled to be working with DublinTown on this year’s Dublin Fashion Festival. Being the face of the Festival is an honour and is something I wanted to do for couple of years now, I’m so excited to have been asked and to be a part of Dublin Fashion Festival 2015. I have always championed Irish style and I love the charm and energy of Dublin fashion. Nothing compares to shopping in the capital there’s always something different to see and experience so I’m really looking forward to what the festival has in store, I’ve no doubt that it will be a fantastic week”.

Guests at last week’s launch were treated to an insider’s view of what’s on offer for this season in the city with a stunning catwalk show directed by Jules at 1st Option Model Management and enjoyed delicious canapés from San Lorenzo’s and tasty tipples from cocktail masters at The Meeting House, Temple Bar. CEO of DublinTown Richard Guiney was in good company with top model Rozanna Purcell, style queen Suzanne Jackson, stylists Justine King and Sonja Mohlich, UTV presenter Alison Comyn, Aisling Kilduff from Design Centre, fashion editor of the Irish Independent, Bairbre Power, designer Morganna Murphy and blogger Ciara O’Doherty all putting their most stylish foot forward. On departure, guests received a gift bag crammed with goodies including a voucher for Penneys, Arnotts cosmetics, Brooke and Shoals candles, Only vouchers, delicious Propercorn treats and complimentary after party drinks in The Meeting House.

Taking place from Monday, 7th September until Sunday, 13th September, the Dublin Fashion Festival puts a sense of fun and theatre back into shopping and socializing in the capital, celebrating all things fashion. This year, the best of the city’s fashion retailers are on hand to host on-street fashion shows on Grafton Street and Henry Street, night-time extravaganzas, exciting in-store events, exhibitions, stylathons, and much, much more. The crème de la crème of young designers from across Ireland will also have the chance to showcase their vision for fashion, and compete for the coveted title of Young Designer of the Year in one of Ireland’s largest fashion events. For the first time ever, the Canon Young Fashion Photographer of the Year competition is open to all budding photographers with an incredible prize including money can’t buy experience at London Fashion Weekend in September.

Showcasing the best in Irish design and high street labels, Dublin Fashion Festival will turn sidewalks into catwalks again this September to get the people of Dublin out to enjoy shopping in the centre and we can’t wait!
