Earlier this week, we organised a photocall with Ronan Keating and top models Holly Carpenter and Roz Purcell, wearing beautiful designs provided by fashion sponsors Boodles and Debenhams, to launch the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby, which will take place at the Curragh Racecourse on Saturday, June 30th. Music will play a key role in this year’s festival, so Ronan Keating will perform on Derby Day, Saturday 30th June after racing at 8pm. 2012 marks a milestone year for the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby, as Ireland’s premier steeplechase will take place on a Saturday evening for the first time in its history.
The Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby is the center piece of the three day festival featuring the Good Food Ireland Village and takes place from Friday 29th June to Sunday 1st July. This year will also see some of Ireland’s best musical talent take to the stage at the festival, with a live performance by The Voice of Ireland star Bressie already confirmed to perform after racing for Friday evening, 29th June, while Delorentos, who released their third consecutive Top 10 album, Little Sparks, earlier this year will perform on Sunday, 1st July. The fashion stakes are also set high for the festival with the Dubai Duty Free Most Stylish Lady in association with Boodles taking place on Derby Saturday, while Sunday 1st July will see the inaugural Debenhams’ Ultimate Ladies Day competition.
Google has unveiled one of its most incredible technologies yet – augmented reality glasses.
Code-named ‘Project Glass’, the specs allow the wearer to get directions, take photographs, check in at places and message friends, with all the information appearing on the lenses of the glasses, and the technology staying out of the way when it’s not needed.
Is this the next technological leap or a wacky fad? We’ll let you be the judge!
Here’s the video we put together to celebrate our 10th anniversary – enjoy!
