Balfes, Dublin

Balfes brasserie and bar on Balfe Street in Dublin 2 is our new go-to dining destination for city centre breakfast meetings, leisurely lunches and Friday night dinner and cocktails. Situated right where Grafton Street and the Creative Quarter meet, Balfes rocks a zinc-covered bar, an open kitchen and a beautiful outdoor terrace – perfect for Saturday afternoon people-watching.

The menu includes steak, prawns and whole fish roasted on a charcoal grill, fresh salads, weekend brunches and seriously delicious cocktails. Strong on Irish artisan ingredients such as farmhouse cheese and house smoked salt, all produce is expertly sourced by executive chef, Cathal Dunne. Pastries, cakes, chutneys, cold pressed juices and Balfes’ own coffee blend are all whipped up in-house.

Seafood fans should try the Castletownbere crab cocktail or roast whole sea bream, while for meat lovers we recommend the aged rib eye.

Balfes is open from 8am until late Monday to Friday and from 10am until late Saturday and Sunday.
