Travel
A recent trip to Amsterdam reminded us what a lovely destination it is for a weekend break.

There’s lots for culture vultures, including the Rijksmuseum, which features a famous collection of works by Rembrandt. The Van Gogh Museum hosts the largest collection of Van Gogh paintings in the world and the Anne Frank House is packed daily, but well worth waiting in line for.

Friday Round Up
A few things that got us talking on the run up to Christmas!
• The death of the printed Christmas card – nearly everyone has moved online it seems
• The BA strike – a bit mean for the million passengers whose travel plans they could have ruined glad it got sorted out in the end
• Christmas holiday plans – everyone is really looking forward to the break
• The death of the Christmas sale – is shopping the same when the sales are constant?
• Paddy Power has paid out on a White Christmas already – we wonder if it will actually happen
• X Factor’s Joe v Rage Against the Machine… we’ll find out on Sunday who wins this battle!

Wearing all of the clothes we have in our wardrobe is a problem for a lot of people. Well not for one New York woman Sheena Matheiken, who has decided to wear one dress a day for an entire year by styling it creatively and thinking outside the box when it comes to adding interesting accessories and fabrics. The reason – an exercise in sustainable fashion! The Uniform Project is a year-long fundraiser for the Akanksha Foundation, a grassroots movement that is revolutionizing education in India. Check out her blog on the site, where she gives regular updates on how the project has really taken off for her.

• The 12 Days of Christmas in the IFSC started yesterday
• We are having our staff Christmas dinner tonight in The Village at Lyons – the style stakes are high!
• We are launching the new magazine Homemade by Clodagh McKenna next week – it is on shelves now, so get your copy if you want to be inspired for Christmas cuisine and simple entertaining!
